Movie Night: Grave of the Fireflies

On Thursday, 18 June, Pangaea hosted a movie night, where we watched "Grave of the Fireflies". It is a deeply moving animated film that tells the story of two siblings struggling to survive during the final months of World War II.

Movie Night: Grave of the Fireflies

The film left a lasting impression on everyone. As the credits rolled, there were plenty of tears, but also a shared sense of reflection. Rather than heading home immediately, we gathered afterward to discuss the themes explored in the film.

Our conversation touched on the human cost of war, the experiences of civilians, the importance of compassion, family bonds, resilience, and how conflict continues to affect people's lives around the world today. Everyone had the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings, and perspectives, creating an open and respectful space for meaningful dialogue.

These discussions are what make our movie nights so special. Films have the power not only to entertain but also to inspire conversations that help us better understand history, society, and one another.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a thoughtful evening. We truly appreciate every person who helped make the event so memorable.

We're already looking forward to our next movie night, and we hope even more of you will join us. Keep an eye on our upcoming events! We can't wait to see you there!
